Summer is the perfect time to explore what there is to see around you. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, and there really is a ton to do with in driving distance. Me and my husband didn't get to travel a ton this summer due to our work schedules, so we did a ton of little weekend or day trips!! (aka stay-cations!!!)
First, I went to Thanksgiving Point Gardens which, if you live near Utah Valley, you have heard of or been to! Their gardens are beautiful and fun to walk around with people of all ages.

My husband's work had a Lagoon Day (Lagoon is a theme park just north of Salt Lake). It is a pretty fun park, especially for free!! He was able to take me and his two youngest brothers to the park for a free day of food and roller coasters. My husband was too scared to go on The Rocket, so I went with my brother-in-law. We weren't that scared, though the drop was insane!
We also went to This is the Place, in Salt Lake. This is a park where they have workers dressed as pioneers and old buildings that were typical of the pioneer era. I love going there and learning about the early history of Utah. Plus, it is fun to see all my nieces and nephews hacking at rugs or doing small crafts!!
We also went to Cowabunga Bay, which is a water slide park meant for younger children. I had a good time though, which means I'm young at heart.
