So this post is actually from Sunday, but my work week has been very intense this week. I had a lot of ups (I got to close a very hard case of mine) and downs (one of my mom's admitted herself to a mental hospital). But thanks to this blog, I looked cute while doing all those things!!!
Well, there is my husband and brother-in-law just hanging out. For some reason, my brother-in-law thought it would be a good idea to throw my car keys into a very tall tree. A tree that had no low branches to climb, hence us pulling the truck onto the lawn and under the tree. It still took all day to get the keys out, breaking our broom in the process. Don't worry, I got to work on Monday. So this post is actually from Sunday, but my work week has been very intense this week. Well, hello there. As you can see from above, I really got into the holiday this year. I got this off Pinterest (You'll find that I get a lot of inspiration from that website). Just green food coloring in the milk and little jars for the "leprechaun" cereal. I am 9 months sober from alcohol and drugs, and have really gotten bored with my weekends. So I decided to start celebrating the little things, like green milk, and little bowls of things!!! I also wore green pants in preparation for spring (see below). So here is my first fashiony outfit I've posted. The shoes are Aldo, from the outlet, leather "fake" moccasins (under $30). The pants are Kate Spade, from the outlet (my favorite find, only $17!!) The polka dot shirt is from Cotton On, a Christmas present from my amazing sister-in-law so I don't know the price but I would guess around $15. My blazer is from Sears (they had a going out of business sale so it was under $10). The belt is my only full priced item I am wearing, it was from the Nordstrom BP section and was 2 belts for $30. My purse is from the Fossil Outlet ($60). Are you guys seeing a trend in where I shop?! My necklace was from my grandmother, and who knows where or how much it was. So the total for this?!?! $87 for the clothing alone!!! I also can't claim that I thought of putting all these things together either. I actually got inspired by Pinterest, from the picture below. I wasn't sure how to wear such bright pants but after looking at that beautiful girl I realized I had everything to make that ensemble myself. My fashion tip of the day? Shop at outlets stores!!! The clothing is usually a season behind, but is still the great quality that you would expect from the designer stores. My favorite outlets are the ones at Prim, Nevada. Yes, it is in the middle of no where but if you are driving across country I would suggest stopping by to stretch your legs. It is right off the freeway, and you can get out of the car which is always a bonus. Another great outlet mall is called Cabazon. It has over a 100 stores and is all outside, just off the freeway going towards Palm Springs in California. This mall has more than the average stores like Nike and Pacsun, it also has Gucci and Jimmy Choo. So yeah, go there if you are in Southern California. Warning: this above photo isn't me!!! I wish I had a great sunset in the back ground with some photo shop skills to enhance the coloring. Sadly, I'm in a darkly lit small studio apartment. At least this blog will be good motivation to keep my room organized and clean!!!
Hey guys. So I was driving home with my husband yesterday and I was complaining about my job (as usual). Not that I hate my job (I'm a social worker for child welfare in the state of Utah). It has some pretty amazing things about it but also some truly depressing aspects. My husband (I'm sure he is sick of hearing the same rusty tune from me) asked a strikingly simple question: If you quit, what would you like to do? This is when I decided that if I could do anything in the world, I would probably just shop day in and day out. I LOVE shopping!!! All kinds of shopping; grocery, clothes, shoes, home depot, wedding dresses, etc. You name it, I would love to go shopping with you. But how practical is trying to find a job shopping? So then it hit me. I'm great at finding a good bargain and at putting the sale pieces together into a beautiful outfit. So enjoy my blog about how I do it!!! |
